A one-on-one review with your pharmacist covering all the medicines you’re taking, to check they’re working well together and that you understand how to use them.

It’s an unhurried review of everything you’re taking, and helps you understand how your medicines work together.

This service may be suitable if you:

• Take multiple long-term medicines and would benefit from a structured review
• Want to better understand how your medicines work together

• Eligibility is set by the MedsCheck program guidelines.
• Generally one MedsCheck per patient per year. Confirm your eligibility with Samios Pharmacy.

Any recommended changes to your medicines should be confirmed with your prescribing doctor.

Before Your Visit

Be prepared to discuss:

• All the medicines you’recurrently taking, including over-the-counter and complementary products
• Any concerns you have aboutyour medicines

During Your Visit

Your pharmacist will go through your full medicine list with you ina private, unhurried conversation.

The review may also include a summary of recommendations, sharedwith your GP with your consent.

Will my GP be told what happens in my MedsCheck?

Only with your consent - your pharmacist can offer to send a summary to your GP, but it's your choice.

How often can I get one?

Generally once every 12 months, per program guidelines.

Is there a cost for this service?

MedsCheck is funded under the relevant goverment program for eligible patients - Samios Pharmacy can confirm your eligibilty and if there is any cost.
